BB Backbone Corporation ("BB Backbone"), JR WEST OPTICAL NETWORK CORPORATION ("JRWON") and Japan Internet Xing Co., Ltd. ("JPIX") announce that the "Osaka NANIWA Ring," a fiber optic ring service provided by BB Backbone and JRWON, will inter-connect with Telehouse OSAKA and Keihanshin OBP Building via the “OBP Connect Service” provided by JPIX on June 1, 2024.

The "Osaka NANIWA Ring" presently connects to major data centers in Osaka City, including the NTT SmartConnect Sonezaki Data Center, Shinsaibashi area data centers, Dojima area data centers, and Osaka Business Park area data centers, in a diversified redundant fiber design. Soon, it will be able connect to Telehouse OSAKA via the OBP Connect service. Data Center interconnection demand is growing due to the recent trend of AI and Cloud connectivity trends, and "Osaka NANIWA Ring" will support this increasing demand in the Western Japan Region by further improving data center connectivity and convenience with a highly reliable optical fiber service.

Besides the optical fiber service between Osaka NANIWA Ring and OBP Connect service, the rail-laid high-quality optical fiber of JRWON and BB Backbone's optical technical capabilities will allow Telehouse OSAKA access to the entire Kansai region (including the Ise-Shima, Chugoku and Kyushu areas).

The Osaka Naniwa Ring will respond to the connectivity needs of various users as a one-stop service and contribute to the development of the western Japan region.
